Spearfishing the Keys From Fall to winter!

I have been terrible at updating the blog lately because the spearfishing has been so good. Of late we have been encountering so many wahoo and big Jacks on the wrecks and reefs. Unfortunately, the sharks have been just as plentiful taking many meals for themselves. This isn’t the time of the year to carry a stringer around to say the least!! Anyway, Below is a compilation of some of the pictures taken in the past few months. The grouper pic was chosen to inspire everyone to wait and get ready for the opening of season on may 1st.

Sept does Spearcrazy Well

channel diving!

The weather this summer was amazing and as we transition into fall all of the days won’t be so seemingly perfect. But, what will happen over the course of the next couple months will be nothing short of special. The fish will start to take up there wintertime residenses and move shallower with the cooling water temps!

Beautiful Winter Day!!!

Hello Spearcrazy Fans!

We were stoked to get out on the water for another great day of spearfishing and fishing off of the fabulous Florida Keys!!!

The weather for our adventure was absolutely stunning with calm seas and a nice variety of fish in our catch.

The day included a nice King shot by Captain James, a small shark, and a throw-back grouper.

At one point Captain James was forced to free a small sea-bird from an entanglement in our lines.

We hope you enjoy the pics!

New Year’s Shark Trail

Hello Spearcrazy Friends!

First, we have received some great comments to our blog here at the Daily Dive recently and would like to extend our gratitude to those of you who have been keeping up with us here. If you enjoy our blog, please contact us here at Spearcrazy and let us know!

Our Daily Dive report today comes from a great session at the end of last week. This session was a great, exhilarating experience for our founder Captain James.

The Dive took place on an absolutely beautiful day with relatively calm seas and so-so visibility except for in the deeper water.

On a known wreck dive here in the Middle Keys, Captain James followed the trail of a few good sized Cobia. Before he could plug one of the few that darted in and around the mid-water level, a good sized Bull Shark appeared with some hasty intentions.

At first Captain James pull back to the surface to follow and monitor the actions of the Bull, but when the shark came by for another pass James noticed that the shark had a few precocious guest accompanying in his trail.

The visitors were a nice small pack of Cobia ready for the taking and at the next pass as the Bull Shark cruised by Captain James swam near the middle of the swarm of Cobia and pulled a nice size trailer in the pack. Not a bad way to start another fresh year of Spearfishing the Florida Keys!

Have a look at the pics and be sure to Contact Spearcrazy for info on your next trip to the keys or how to get your hands on the best Spearfishing clothing around!

Peace,

Spearcrazy
